Join the world-famous New Year’s Eve Celebration in Times Square on Saturday, December 31, from 6:00 pm - 12:00 am. At 6:00 pm, the ball will be raised to the top of the 77-foot flagpole at One Times Square and lit. At 11:59 pm, the ball will make its 60-second descent.

This year, DOT continued installation of countdown signals at 1,500 intersections along major corridors citywide, including along Grand Concourse in the Bronx, Hylan Boulevard on Staten Island and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard in Manhattan. The signals are a major initiative outlined in DOT’s Pedestrian Safety Study and Action Plan, and more than 1,000 intersections have now had them installed.
